I am SO proud of all the Little Chiefs and their families for raising money for Jump Rope for Heart this year. You not only raised money to help others with sick hearts, but you took some awesome heart healthy challenges to keep your own hearts healthy!!

I've fallen behind, but I'm catching up!!
I have fallen behind in updating my blog! But I would like to bring everyone up to date. We have been so busy in PE this year! We started out learning and perfecting our locomotor skills, skipping, jogging, galloping, sliding, speed walking, crab walking, bear walking, tiptoeing, and so much more! We finished that unit with an obstacle course where we had to use all our locomotor skills, plus pathways. We learned what the word "obstacle" means.
We followed our locomotor unit with a soccer unit where we talked about the different parts of our foot that we can use to kick a ball. We learned how to dribble with our feet, and we learned how to "trap".
After soccer, we got to "climb the wall"! We learned the safety rules of climbing on the climbing wall. We climbed up and down, and we also climbed side to side. We learned the word "traverse" means "to go across", and we enjoyed traversing our climbing wall. We built some muscles and really used our brains to problem solve when climbing across.
Our next unit included throwing and catching. We are currently finishing that unit up. We learned when to throw overhand and when to throw underhand. We also learned how to do each of those correctly. We have played lots of fun games to practice those skills including Angry Birds and Ghostbusters!
I am including some pictures to show you some of these fun activities. Thanks for being patient and allowing me to catch up!
